Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle
The Spa Novices’ Hurdle, also known as the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle, is a Grade 1 National Hunt hurdle.
It is run on the New Course at Cheltenham over a distance of 3 miles and during its running 12 hurdles have to be jumped.
It was one of several new races introduced at the Festival when a fourth day was added to the meeting in 2005.
The vegetable growing company Albert Bartlett began supporting the race in 2008, and since then it has held Grade 1 status.

In the Albert Bartlett you really need to be concentrating on good stayers who have strong form over 3 mile.
A horse that was a previous course winner is a good start.
Experienced staying types should be inspected closely.
Your selection should have been at least in top 2 places in a graded hurdle last time out.
Look for horses that have won over at least 2 mile 5 Furlongs and at least 3 times over hurdles.
The leading trainer is Jonjo O’Neill who won this race in 2006 and 2007
