World Hurdle

The World Hurdle is a Grade 1 Hurdle for horses aged four years or older. It is run on the New Course at Cheltenham over a distance of about 3 miles where horses have to jump 12 hurdles

It is the leading long-distance hurdle event in the National Hunt calendar, and it is the feature race on the third day of the Festival.

This race is for the stayers and is a specialist race for those long distance hurdlers; it is in effect the hurdles version of the Gold Cup for Chasers.

In recent years a couple of horses have been at the forefront of this race and do well when coming back to defend their title. Inglis Drever and Big Bucks have been amazing to watch in this event.
